History / Background

Since it’s launch, OSK had delivered wide array of performances in accordance to the needs. Internationally, it has made a good relationship with High Commissions and foreign embassies as well as having guidance from world class conductors from all over the world.

OSK has held many performances abroad. These include performances at the Esplanade, Singapore (2003), Tokyo and Osaka, Japan, in conjunction with the Asia Orchestra Week 2004. At present, OSK has a crew of 34 full-time professional musicians under the lead of Mustafa Fuzer Nawi. Apart from these, the services of both local and foreign professional freelance musicians are also often invited to cater to the needs of its performances.

    The objective of the Music Department is to realizing high-class performances by preparing its members with life-time skills in spurring the growth of national musical art as well as to steer the activities and growth of music industry in our country.
