Istana budaya is a government departments under the Cultural Sector in the Ministry of Tourism and Culture, Malaysia. The purpose of the council is to promote arts and culture in Malaysia.
Ticket prices are determined by the production of each performance and usually between RM20 – RM250 depending on the type of show.
Istana Budaya is equipped with facilities for those who are in wheelchairs. This includes an access ramp to the lobby, lowered buttons lift and a special waiting area at the Front Hall. We also provide unisex toilets at the Front Hall and Main Hall.
For Orchestra and Choir, you need to wear lounge suit, Batik or a long sleeves shirt. For theatre and dance, decent attire is sufficient. Worn out/shabby jeans, round neck shirt, shorts, conspicuous attire, sports attire, sport shoes and slippers are not allowed.
There are many parking spaces around Istana Budaya and they are free.
